Tidewatch

Background:
Originally a fishing settlement east of Seradane, Tidewatch had been nothing more than a meager grouping with a few small fishing ships. Through the benevolence of Her Majesy, Queen Rennali and the needs of the settlers - mostly druids of Seradane and some Dwarves - she commissioned to have the March taken on as a harbor settlement to help improve the relaying of goods and services across the seas and to Quel’Thalas. Today, Tidewatch serves as where the Athillien Navy is stationed and trained.

Capital City: Fort Lurvantis Naval Shipyard

Largest City: St. Lucia

Exports: Ships, Fish, Engineering, Meat, Produce, and Precious Gems (Pearls).

Current Leadership:

Languages: Thalassian, Common, Gnomish, Dwarvish, Darnassian, Taurahe, and Faeish.

Currency: Universal Gold Standard. Due in part to Tidewatch being a hub of commerce for overseas trading, Tidewatch uses the same gold standards as other kingdoms. They prefer not to barter if they can help it, but occasionally captains will barter (or gamble) some of their wares in the local inns and taverns as a way of circulating good business. Tidewatch, being where it is, is the commerce / trade center of Quel’Athillien, professing one of the largest farmer’s markets, bazaars and year-round fairs.

Religion: Various. With the naval shipyard and the different social and economic climates that come in and out of Tidewatch, the march has given light to the acceptance of various faiths and religions and numerous chapels to provide places for worship.

Climate: Being on the coast and just down the river from the main kingdom, Tidewatch finds itself in a place where seasons change, but not rapidly. The slow transitions are often missed simply because the mild of Spring can often move quickly into the chill of Autumn. While snow and falling leaves do not ever make their mark, Tidewatch does share a few months of a monsoon season where it will be gray, rainy and cold.
