Athinasian Luxology -- The most commonly accepted and understood branch of Luxology first enunciated by the monastic Quomas Athinas of Northshire, which maintains that the Light is not a magic, nor a god, nor merely the power of faith, nor the philosophy itself, but the object of the philosophy. The Light is therefore the authority which imparts the goodness of the virtues. The Light unconditionally grants its blessing on certain individuals who may then use this blessing to perform signs and wonders. It is the source, end, authority and power that governs them all, the supreme reality from which all else is derived, and it is therefore itself the highest object of worship.
Electunistic Luxology -- A branch of Luxology popularized by Kaston Electus when he was Bishop of Stormwind which takes Athinasian Luxology a step further and concludes that because the Light is the highest object of worship, then the Light should rightly be called the God of gods as the first Clerics of Northshire once referred to the Light as: God. Adherents are almost always extreme aesthetics who practice such things as men cultivating fulsom beards to hide facial imperfections, and bathing their hands in goat’s milk for purification.
Sunwhisperan Pantheism -- A branch of Luxology first taught by Rennali Sunwhisper when she was Auxillery Bishop of Stormwind which concludes that both Athinasian and Electunistic luxologies focus far too much upon the worship and veneration of the Light, and neglect relationships between people. Adherents maintain that darkness comes not from violating judicial sins, but by clinging to cravings which they refer to as ‘fetters.’ When one commits a fetter, darkness increases and inhibits the practitioners’ ability to become one with the Light.
Branasian Panentheism -- A branch of Luxology first taught by Gavriel Branas when he was Holy Patriarch of the Holy Orthodox Church which is an attempt to bridge Athinasian and Electunistic Luxologies with Sunwhisperan Pantheism. Adherents maintain that Sunwhisperan fetters and Athinasian/Eletunistic sins are one in the same, and emphasizes on the dwelling of the Light within an individual so as to balance relationships with others and worship of the Light.
